Strategic Foresight final project

Misuse of data is a serious problem. But perhaps equally as troubling is the fact that many users are not sufficiently aware of how exactly popular apps and platforms work, how their engagement is optimized, or what’s being tracked and collected. In our project, we identified: growing amounts of data being collected and sold, negligent click-throughs of terms and conditions, ”smart” tech, facial recognition technologies, and awareness by organizations as evident and emerging trends. We also created a CLA and a poster for a possible future of Bio design.

Diamond in the Rough

sitioning Statement: For urban millennial couples shopping for unique wedding bands, Diamond in the Rough is a jewelry pop-up that guides customers through the process of designing and printing their rings. Unlike traditional jewelry stores, Diamond in the Rough demystifies fine jewelry and enables couples in the creation of a personal and lasting symbol of their love. Summary: The Diamond in the Rough experience begins weeks or even months before the couple gets to the store. They are connected online with a Design Associate who learns about the couple, their plans, and their preferences and helps guide them toward their preferred designs. When the couple arrives at their appointment, they are greeted and offered the signature cocktail (a sparkling rosemary, gin drink) and checked in. With their budget, materials, ring sizes and basic designs already determined, they relax and enjoy a date together, fine tuning their ring designs in person with the Design Consultant. Music that represents them as a …

Pleasure Toys Pop-up - Experience Studio

Through research, the Pleasure Toys Team discovered that adults who are seeking to achieve pleasure free from traditional sexual definition find a highly segmented sex product experience where they aren’t represented. How might we design an experience for pleasure toys that transcends identity labels and equalizes access to pleasure? Noje supports every human throughout their sexual journeys, no matter what that journey looks like. Unlike traditional sex shops, Noje believes in equal access to pleasure and doing things your way... Because nobody knows your body like you!

Risk Zone 1 | Truth, Disinformation & Propaganda

The 2020 Election is in the near future, but as we learned in the 2016 election, anything can happen within a short time. Reporting, social media, political pundits, conspiracy theories, polling, accusations, and investigations — how we get information and the validity of truth will sway views and ultimately, votes. The best political minds did not see the massive shift in support until it was too late. This epic upset was an eye-opener for the entire country. Disinformation is disseminated at a mind-blowing pace, and the strategy of politics has changed drastically. In less than a year, presidential candidates face-off with its most significant challenge, technology. Every candidate’s reputation is vulnerable to a world of half-truths and lies. In a world where many people regularly fall prey to online conspiracy theories and fake news posts, heighten misinformation in the digital media is undermining the public’s trust in the government and the media. Through social media, foreign interference, and distor…
